Introduction by the Prime Minister at the Meeting of the Government and Representatives

Mr. Vice-President of the National Assembly,

Dear permanent members of the Board of Directors,

You ministers and members of the government,

Members of Parliament, all of us present here,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are always happy to come to the National Assembly. Not only to respect the Constitution, but as a national issue, you know very well that we have a responsibility in this, whether you are the legislators or we are the executive.

It has been three weeks since I submitted the report on the work carried out by the government in accordance with the General State Policy (PGE). In 2020, the challenges we faced, the achievements we made, and the various roles we played, such as:
– fight against the coronavirus epidemic,
– continuous improvement of management,
– the establishment and restoration of security and peace, as well as the challenges of reviving the economy and various production infrastructures; the social services listed in detail also played a part.

Many steps have been taken in the implementation of the State Economic Plan (SEP), beginning with the vision of President Andry Rajoelina, which clearly states that "no undertaking can change the country's history without effective communication between existing institutions." We are still in a health emergency, and many things are contributing to these challenges, including health, economic, social, and environmental issues.

That is why we are not satisfied with the general report I made and the detailed reports that were made by members of the government, because national life is still developing and it is right that we meet now.

The Government's priority is to revive the Malagasy economy by creating jobs generated by public investments in the construction of various infrastructures needed for the population and the development of rural areas.

Establishing a world founded on a vision of peace is a shared objective. That is why we have set targets for this year; GDP should therefore reach 4.31 TP3T. That is why we are prioritizing the stability of the Malagasy currency; being able to control the potential impact of the global economic crisis on the cost of living, which should not exceed 61 TP3T, is the challenge facing the country, and this is the direction our country will take.

I really want to have mutual respect, which is the value of English, in the discussion under the roof we will have here.
