Madagascar - Invest - The Economic Development Board of Madagascar (EDBM)

As an Investment Promotion Agency (API), the EDBM has set itself the objectives of strengthening the competitiveness of the Malagasy private sector, increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), developing and recommending incentive measures related to private investments in Madagascar and supporting investors in their establishment and expansion efforts by providing them with dedicated services from specialized advisors and through its One-Stop Shop.

Attached to the Presidency of the Republic, the EDBM is the institutional expression of the government's desire to boost economic growth and create jobs through the implementation and development of projects that maximize Madagascar's benefits and which are carried out by both foreigners and nationals. The EDBM is the entry point for any investor looking for business opportunities in sectors with high growth potential and in which Madagascar has comparative advantages: agribusiness, light export industry such as Textile/Clothing, infrastructure/PPP, Mining, ICT and Tourism.

Building and conveying a positive image of Madagascar as a destination conducive to investment, and attracting and encouraging multinationals and local operators to invest in priority sectors is one of the EDBM's missions.

A multidisciplinary team provides free, confidential and personalized services throughout the process: from planning (provision of economic and sectoral information, texts and procedures, tax and customs regimes, organization of meetings with key decision-makers and local partners, factor costs, etc.), during implementation (various advice on suppliers, premises, liaison with the administration, etc.) and even during the expansion of activities through the aftercare service. A One-Stop Shop is also at the service of investors for all their procedures.

As part of its mission, the EDBM collaborates with various stakeholders from the public and private sectors, facilitating private-public dialogue (PPD). It also benefits from the support of technical and financial partners such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank, etc.

Based in Antananarivo, the EDBM has 8 branches, 3 in the hubs (Antsirabe, Fort Dauphin and Nosy Be) and 5 others in the former provincial capitals.
